Is zero stars an option? I received some of the worst customer service I have ever received today at Towner's. All I needed was a simple rear inner tube to be replaced. The OWNER of the shop refused to repair my tube unless I took off my rear paniers. I tried explaining to him that it would be difficult to take them off and that he should be able to fix the tube without taking the paniers off. He just stared at me which to me implied he didn't want to help me. I then told him that I was going to take my bike to another shop if it was going to be a hassle for him to help me. He said nothing and sat back down. After I left his store, I called him and asked him where the closest bike shop was to Towner's so I could take my bike there instead. Instead of apologizing for his lazy, horrible customer service he told me to go to Full Moon Vista. Not only did I get the tube repaired at Full Moon Vista, but I ended up getting a new, more durable tire. I am glad I ended up giving my 75 dollars to Full Moon Vista. I highly recommend avoiding Towner's Bike Shop.
Worst bike shop experience ever. I went in to get my chain lubed and buy a lock and left in frustration. Whoever was working was not friendly and did not want to help. I tried to start a conversation but they just pointed to a pile of junk saying that's where the lube was. I wanted someone to work on my bike. I got the lube and went to put my bike in a stand that was just sitting there and I was told to do it outside when there was a pile of grease and oil on the ground under the stand. I turned around and left. Don't waste your time, this place is really dirty, everything looks old, and they don't want your business. Go to Park Ave Bike Shop instead! They helped out my bike while I waited and helped me find a lock. Way better experience.
I went in just to buy an inner tube, an overpriced inner tube that didn't match the length of the valve because they didn't have it (a 60mm valve road bike tube is not that uncommon). The guy on the other side of the counter had a lot of sarcastic and rude comments to make. I'm not going back and now I understand all the negative reviews for this place.
A gem of a bike shop! I first visited Towners when a friend who road in from Buffalo, needed a quick adjustment to his bike. Without hesitation the owner helped him out with what he needed at no charge. Since then I have been there three times, one to purchase a bike mount for my roof rack and a helmet for my son. The other time I was shopping around for a new bike and had many questions that were answered, never did I feel pressured, and I learned a lot from the owner. A great place, it's nice to see these types of shops still around!
Tried to get a new bottom bracket for my fixie and got so much attitude for not being knowledgeable on this particular item. The guy refused to fix my bike. liiikkkeeeee... thanks for nothing
