We had a wonderful experience at August family birth place. They took excellent care of me and my daughter and I adored my labor nurse, Brynn. The staff was very caring and helpful, even with my daughter's latch issue (due to a slight tongue tie).
Worst experience ever! You have been warned, do not go here! Terrible experience with nurses and on-call pediatrician, Dr. Gretchen Smith-Burke. My baby was bathed 30+ hours after delivery and it took his grandmother to beg the nurses to bathe him. His hair was matted covered in blood and he screamed in pain while they were combing the blood out. He left the hospital with rashes due to not being bathed properly after delivery. Dr. Gretchen Smith-Burke yelled at my husband and I when we wanted to get discharged and treated us like we were children! DO NOT GO HERE!
They let my newborn starve and didn't properly check his latch on my breast. Had starvation jaundice at 4 days old when we got to his pediatrician. Same thing happened to another baby we know also! When he was screaming in the hospital they just told us to rock him to calm him and deserted us. We where first time parents and had no idea at the time how abnormal this was. I hate this place!!
The doctors were good. But I had the most awful nurse. She was so cold. Working in the health field especially at labor and delivery a professional should be caring and warm. I had the complete opposite with a nurse named Chris.
