Update to the manager: We do not care if the report came back negative. Whether we found one bedbug or a hundred, one bedbug is still a bedbug and a problem. The fact of the matter is that I got bit, with a doctor confirming the patterned bed bug bites when I returned home. It was an absolute dreadful past month filled with many sleepless nights due to the itching and scars that later formed. During our stay,
Homewood Suites was great. The room was well-appointed and in good condition. The pool was good. The breakfast had many options. The staff was friendly and helpful. We will definitely be staying there again!
First off, the staff was utterly amazing! They went out of their way to help with every request. Our room was on the third floor, and even near the elevator it was quiet. The bed and the pull out couch we very comfortable. The standard king suite was fantastic for traveling with kids. Our daughter was in the outer room sleeping while we could watch TV.
A huge Thank You to our friends here for taking such great care of our client, comedian Nick Dittmeier, while staying here after a performance! The room was great, and the accommodations were perfect. There was a free breakfast in the morning as well as a laundry room which made the next morning perfect before getting back on the road!
UPDATE below: Do NOT go here. This was the worst stay we've had at any hotel. We've always trusted and enjoyed Homewood suites before and this time we were on a business trip and my husband killed a bed bug on our first night, and of course I freaked out. I had just come out of the shower, my hair was drenched, all of our things were unpacked, and we now had to repack all our things. It was extremely inconvenient. My husband showed the bug to the front desk who admitted it was a bed bug, and assured us this has "never" happened before and moved us to another room that they guaranteed was clean. We stayed for a week and I returned with bed bug bites all over my body that won't go away and I've been constantly throwing all my clothes in the washer. I'm scared it has come into my home. This has NEVER happened to me before, it's terrifying, my body is extremely itchy, and I am now paranoid to stay at another hotel again. We should have chosen our hotel more carefully because after doing some research, we found out that this location is known for bed bugs. That's right, we were NOT the first ones and this HAD happened before. We write this as a warning so that no one has to go through what we went through. Homewood Suites is usually good for what it provides, just clearly not this location. But if you'd like to take your chances, be my guest.
Great rooms. Free breakfast and social hour make it easier to be away from home for extended periods. Pet friendly! Helpful and friendly staff. Could use some new carpet in halls.
we looked for the "manager" for several consecutive days at different times because we were told to work with him to get a refund but each time (at 4PM) we were told "he went home for the day" or when we went between 7am or 7:30 before we left for our meetings, we were told "he's not in yet." Our timing was amazingly bad each time. We were so busy we ended up giving up. Either way, don't just try to protect your job by justifying what had happened and pulling out bug reports, and if you DID consider the matter to be "serious," you would have acted like a real and professional manager and asked how your guests were feeling, but even after you must have heard about our situation, not once did you check up on us or ask how we were doing. And please don't call my review "libelous" claims, it's very upsetting to see that come from an "assistant manager" after we've had such a horrifying experience. I wouldn't waste my time writing something that did not happen. And let me be clear again, YOUR employee working at the time saw the bug and ADMITTED it was a bed bug. And it undeniably was. You can also check several other travel websites that have your hotel with reviews written by people complaining about bedbugs. And you can learn to appreciate both positive and negative reviews, for they both help in building better management.
