This place hasn't posted correct hours in ages and they never answer their phone. In fall or winter, make sure you get here before 6 or you'll find the doors locked. Or maybe not. Who the hell knows?
This gallery and cafe are run by an owner who treats his customers unequally and talks down to his employees in front of customers. The baked goods that are sold here is not as fresh as the owner claims it to be and can be bought directly from the bakers in the Rochester area. The employees that work at Jembetat are not treated well by the owner. Do not eat here, do not buy art or jewelry here, do not in any manner give your money to this business.
I went to Jembetat yestarday (12/23/2010) started reading with my mocha latte and I was the only customer in the place. For comfort, I pulled a 2nd chair close to me so I could put my foot on the chair's foot rest (I only moved it 2 feet). And the owner rudely told me to put the 2nd chair back. And this was the 2ndt time the owner was rude to me. I am not going there again. There are a lot of good cafe in Park ave. I don'r need to be treated this way.
We went on the website to check the hours and it says they are open until 11:30 pm "everyday". We show up at 8pm and try to open the doors and the owner begins screaming at us across the street saying he was going to call the cops on us and they are closed. Will NEVER go to this place again. Was blown away how rude he was.
