A really unique gem in the middle of the city of Rochester. It's like a mini Niagara falls! Make sure to take a rain-jacket because you will get sprayed with water. Also bring a buddy, it was pretty solitary, even on a Sunday...and fairly sketchy. Lots to see and explore here!
Excellent scenery and close to nature.
A great part of Rochester history. The water spray can cover the bridge above when the water is running fast enough., There is a trail to walk and the river is so powerful when the water is high.
Beautiful falls. Nice views from the sidewalks and bridge. However does the best experience hike down into the gorge (not when its raining or rained a lot as flash flooding has killed people on rare occasions). If you walk in the trail into the woods just hop over the bent rails and head left. Carefully make your way down to the river and head right to come to a spectacular view of the falls. Theres also a large man-made flood control cave you can check out but it can smell kind of bad, i warned you! Not for kids or out of shape individuals. You can also climb down to the top of the falls to the right of the observation point. Middle falls is to the right of the observation point.
I love this hike and the view. The cave is legit and so is the falls. Such a sick place.
