Saw his PA who said I would see him. I had my MRI and she said he saw the problem which was a bulging disc pressing on my spinal cord. He told her to tell me that surgery wouldn't relieve my pain. Other surgeons said it would! So I never saw the doctor. Not a real professional!
Lack of compassion and people skills!
The dr I saw prior to seeing John Scott at dr whitbecks office told me I'd 've stuck taking pain pills for the rest of my life and told me there was nothing else they could do. I went to dr whitbeck and saw his pa John Scott ,who is amazing by the way, and they sent me for another Injection so see if it would numb the pain. It did when I went back, John had dr whitbeck to come speak with me and he looked me in the eyes and said I know u want to be better I know just by looking at you that this herniated disc is driving you crazy and it want it to be over. I said yes I'd like to just get this don't any over with. So now I'm finally after 3 years getting the piece of disc that's rubbing my nerve root and the nerve down my leg taken out. The wait for workers comp is the only hard part when dealing with this dr in my own experience. I think they are all great people and I'm very please. They don't look at u just as a patient they look at you and talk to you like a friend and that they care about how ur pain ain't injury is effecting you like and the people around you. They won't fix everyone some people don't realize they can't stop pain from cutting ever disc some aren't bulging out enough but anyway they are great I enjoy their help
I think Dr. Whitbeck is great . He treated me as needed both quickly and effectively. I've heard negative comments about his bedside manner but honestly people, he's a surgeon, not a nurse. If you want to get fixed and move on with your life he's the doctor for you. If you want to be coddled hire a caregiver. I especially appreciated that Dr. Whitbeck's office had all of the necessary services (Borg & Ide Imaging, Pain Management Clinic, and Physical Therapy Center) all in one convenient location. No traveling all over town, and with a disc herniation which was greatly appreciated. It took 3 days from MRI results/diagnosis for doc to book my surgery. I was back on my feet the same day and on my way to recovery. I have full function of my back and legs again and am pain free most every day. I think it's about time someone said it. Thanks Doc. You changed my life.
Even though I had a very bad experience. I'm not sure if it was the Doctor or the hospital. But it caused me several thousand dollars for antibiotics I had to put in thru a pick line. I also had severe pain for over 3 months.
