The school is great. My son as learned so much in such a short period of time. They are very well organized and the staff works as a team. Wonderful place for your child to become a scholar. Keep up the good work Rochester Prep.
Rochester Preps Staff are very controlling of the students and their parents. They need to treat the students and parents with respect and listen to their concerns. They don't want to hear the parents views. When you disagree with the manner in which they administer evaluations and or discipline they try to marginalize you -put you in your place. They do not want to have relationship built on mutual respect. They want a relationship built on a dictatorship and that might be fine for parents who don't want to be fully engaged in the schooling process-but I DO. I have found the leadership on Jay Street to be condescending and "save the black children."
Rochester Prep puts way too much pressure on the child and parent. The scholars are being trained to be some type of robot that sings. The demands to cross their hands all day, multiply and divide by 1st grade are way to high of expectations for a school with little resources. No Field trips, no discovery learning, no talking during most lunch? The homeork expectations are far fetched. After a ten to twelve hour day, they send them home with an hour to two hours of homework.
They should get rid of Ms Taylor who is in charge of enrollment! She is an unprofessional. Both of my children are in ROCHESTER Prep middle school and my 4 yr old was just accepted. With all of the competition with charter schools popping up her attitude will run that place into the ground. Who has orientation on a work day at 8 am or 2 pm? And she states those are the only days or she can drop my daughters application. What a jerk!! She's definitely a phone thug. All she needs is her clan hood from out her daddies closet. This is not my first encounter with her. However, this would be too long of a thread. More diversity with the hiring is needed. #facts
I hated it when I was there I had the worst time but they do make you learn better but there strict and controlling
