Last winter I was traveling in a car that unfortunately got a flat tire right outside of the Turkish Society of Rochester. We ended up pulling in to the parking lot, but no one in the car had any prior experience changing a tire, nor did anyone have triple A. As a result we ended up asking people for help changing the tire or just for advice as to how we could solve our problem. Many people avoided us or just told us they would give us a hand when they were done with their meeting inside. Hours later the parking lot had completely filled up, and then subsequently completely emptied, and not one person who said they would help bothered to try. Did I mention it was cold and snowy that day? Needless to say, my faith in humanity died a bit that day...
