Rick's is a messy treasure trove for used book lovers. Stacks of books everywhere all willy-nilly but Rick will help you locate anything specific or you can just browse. Prices are pretty good.
Piles of books. Amazing. When you first walk in it can be over whelming, but once you understand the system you'll be fine. The staff working there, I assume this to be the owner, seems to possess a preturnatural ability to find the exact book you want if you don't feeling like digging, with a simple prompt he will reach his hand into the shelf and pull out the proverbial plum. You can easily lose an hour just sifting through the collection. I have found some gems, and typically find myself going in for a specific book and leaving with a stack. Amazon what? Rick's is the spot for books. Highly recommend, you will not be disappointed.
If you want to try and sell a book to these guys it's like pulling teeth. I called the store to ask if they bought used books. A guy came on and sounded interested in what I had. After a five minute conversation talking about the books I have, he says: "oh you have to call my dad and schedule an appointment so that he can purchase the books. I'm not the one that buys them." So why was he asking me questions about what I have if he can't make the purchase? Wasted 5 minutes of my life. Then I asked him how I schedule an appointment. He said to call back at 4pm to talk to his dad...I said: "so when is your dad in the store to purchase books?" He said: "he's here after 4pm". So I said "so you only buy books after 4pm"? He said no you have to call my father to set up an appointment... SOO..If you want quick cash this is not the place to go. They don't have a system in place where they can effectively purchase books/DVDs. Its sort of hit or miss with these guys. I've been in the store front and I only seem to get anywhere if this guys father is in the store (which seems to be random times). I honestly wouldn't bother trying to sell anything to these guys.
