I was really hoping Ox and Stone would become a go to restaurant for my family and I'm disappointed that it didn't meet that hope. The space great and we were treated well but that could not make up for the food. I chose a chicken enchilada with mole and a side of black beans. The mole was very salty and did not have the rich flavor a mole should have. It seemed it didn't simmer long enough; the flavor just wasn't there. Chicken was also salty. The beans i could only eat one bite. Loaded with chili powder. Really awful. I finished neither. Not likely to go back.
I love Ox and Stone! Jon Swan runs a great business. The atmosphere is lively and always exciting and fun. The happy hour specials for drinks and food are delicious, trendy and amazing. The staff especially Kevin are attentive and always a great time. I will definitely be back for drinks, fried crickets and punch with friends! If you haven't stopped here yet, you're missing out. Great prices to boot! :-)
Lovely service and nice atmosphere, but do be prepared to speak up a bit. It's loud by virtue of the architecture... That said, I haven't found it overly bothersome.
Such a great experience each time I have been here. If you're looking for something different, and willing to be adventurous with flavors - this is a great place to test out new foods and drinks! My menu suggestion - don't question the ingredients in the dishes, just try it - it will all make sense once it hits your taste buds! I would not call the food Mexican... nor Spanish... it's diverse, and a blend of so many different flavors from all types of cuisine... (I guess that makes it American?
One of my favorite brunch spots. The avocado toast is amazing and hello bottomless bloodies... Need I say more!? They always have great specials and service has always been wonderful.
I've been here twice so far, and Ioved it both times. Everything I've had - from fried crickets to calamari to flan - has tasted incredibly fresh and flavorful. They operate a scratch kitchen, and you can tell!
