First of all, i have been a law abiding resident in this country and I totally understand that you're doing your job and protecting the security of citizens and other immigrants in this country and have been always cooperative every single time I have travelled since last 5 years.
1. If you're asking me to take any liquids out from my carry bag, i dont see a reason why every other individual shouldnt be asked too.
Anyhow, this post doesn't affect my high regards for the integrity of this great nation and I'll still be as cooperative as I have always been because I believe that not every one is the same and not everyone classifies people on the base of appearance and color.
•Now comes the best part. Keep in mind that it has been almost A MINUTE so far while others behind me wait. The official picks a paper strip and rubs it on his glove and then rubs on both side of my palm and puts it on another scanner next to him. I asked him what is this for and I am told this is to check if I have any traces of EXPLOSIVE MATERIAL on my hand. Sure. No issues. While the scanner is doing it's work, I ask him what if I had touched a lighter. He says, "You'll be all good I am sure". Nothing on the scanner too. I am good to go.
This airport is small and easy to navigate. Most airports want you there an hour before boarding, here I got through everything including rental return in 15 minutes. I can't say how well that would go during busy times but as small as it is I bet you can cut it closer and still make it.
I arrived extremely early and had a ton of time before my flight. I found many areas where I could sit comfortably and read or write this review... Easy to get into and to navigate.
•Next, he has asked my to hold my jeans from the belt loops and he checks my inner thighs desperately looking for something that looked suspicious on the scanner. Nothing.
3. I stood there at least 10 minutes after this whole ordeal just to see what steps are taken for other American citizens that also show the same results under the body scanner. If my math is good enough which is very good since I have a bachelor's and a master's degree in ENGINEERING, it didn't take more than an average of 30 seconds for anyoone.
•The security guy starts off by checking under both my underarm and finds nothing.
•Next I am asked to turnaround. He starts putting his hands inside my jeans checking the elastic on my underwear. Nothing there.
Great, but NO united lounge. It is not too busy though. Please add a United Club lounge & a Priority Select associated lounge.
What a horrible experience at the TSA line in the Rochester NY airport!! As you all must be smart enough to tell from my name and profile picture, I am an immigrant here on a visa and I was travelling back to Houston TX after this weekends's trip.
2. I go through the body scanner and it showed two points on the scanner to be checked: one under my left underarm and the other in my right pocket.
1. I dropped my bag for security check and this lady of African American descent asked me to take out my body wash, deoderant and face wash out of my bag even though I told her it's less than 3 oz. I'm pretty sure every women that travels domestic must atleast have one liquid container more than 3 oz in her carry bag. There were two ladies infront of me and several that came after me. Nobody else was told to do so.
The two times I've flown out of here there have been delays. The first, 6 hours "mechanical issues" which ended with de-icicng fluid entering the windshield. This time, the flight crew is over 20 minutes late. I'll be driving an hour just to fly out of buffalo.
A good amount of neat shops to pick from that all smell good and even a kids play place for those with toddlers which is very smart.
2. Please dontsay you're so sure I would not have anything on me if you've already checked me for more than a minutes and then you check my hands for explosive material.
